Step into the sounds and scenes of life in the 1800s. Nineteen historically restored and decorated buildings bring to life an authentic southern plantation complete with beautiful formal gardens. Take a self-guided tour and enjoy the sights and smells of the working cookhouse and garden where demonstrators preserve and pass-on the timeless traditions and treasures of the south. Talk to the animals or watch them perform at our Farmyard. Kids can pet the animals while professionals teach them about animal behavior and their role on Plantations of the 19th century.
©2007 Stone Mtn Summit Skyride (Occassionally closed for seasonal maitnence)
The rock’s top attraction is The Summit Skyride. This high-speed Swiss cable car provides a stunning view of the Confederate Memorial Carving as it transports guests more than 825 feet above ground to the top of Stone Mountain. From the top, experience amazing views of the Atlanta skyline, the Appalachian Mountains and more up to 60 miles away.
4D Theater
All your senses will be engaged through a 3D film and spectacular 4th dimension special effects within the audience in Stone Mountain's original film, Tall Tales of the South™, that celebrates the South's love of storytelling. Individual tickets are not available for the 4D Theater, you must have a One-Day All Attractions Pass or a Mountain Membership to visit the Theater.
©2007 Stone Mtn Camp Highland Outpost
Exciting outdoor challenges for the entire family including rock walls to climb, plus a low ropes course with three line bridges, tube nets and zip lines. Camp Highland Outpost is designed and built in partnership with the staff of Camp Highland in Ellijay, GA.
Crossroads
Visit the Crossroads area and transport yourself to an 1870s southern town bustling with activity in a manner most of us have only read about in history books. Interact with demonstration crafters steeped in the almost forgotten art of Glass Blowing, Candle Making, Candy Making and Blacksmithing. Visit with Stoney, our resident talking fountain.
©2007 Stone Mtn Enjoy live shows and entertainment in season with our Crossroads townsfolk. Watch the Grist Mill grind flour for cinnamon rolls baked in the bakery right next door or watch ice cream and candy being made. Find unique shopping with the best items of yesterday and today and enjoy a truly southern meal at Miss Katie’s Sideboard - our boarding house restaurant that offers great food and loads of fun. Attractions in the Crossroads area include the Treehouse Challenge, The Great Barn, the Tall Tales of the South® 4D Theater and the Scenic Railroad.
Scenic RailroadClimb aboard our trail with a full size locomotive from the 1940s with open-air cars that will take you on a lively five-mile excursion around the mountain. Marvel at beautiful views of Stone Mountain and the surrounding landscape.
The train experience includes A Look Back Down The Tracks, a blend of narration about the chronological history of trains around Stone Mountain from the mid-1800s, when the rail line was first built at the mountain, and interesting facts about the mountain. Train-themed music and well known sing-a-longs make the ride fun for all ages.
©2007 Stone Mtn Lasershow Spectacular
Kick back and relax on the lawn as it is transformed into a natural amphitheater for the World's Largest Lasershow Spectacular. A Stone Mountain Park signature event and an Atlanta tradition, the Lasershow combines colorful lasers, surround sound and special effects into a 45 minute light show, choreographed to popular and patriotic music.
The show includes the exciting Flame Cannon effect and the Laser Canopy that creates a ceiling of light over the heads of guests. The show concludes with a fantastic fireworks finale.
©2007 Stone Mtn Pedal Boats (Open in April)
Set sail on a voyage into Stone Mountain Lake on your own Pedal Boat. Everyone on board must wear a life vest. Someone at least 12 years old needs to be in each boat. Someone at least 18 years old must be present to sign a waiver for each boat. Maximum of two people per boat. The only exception is if the third passenger is a child under 6 years old. Any age can ride as long as there is someone at least 12 years old on board (infant vests are available).
The Great Barn
It's harvest time in the barn! Atlanta's most exciting adventure for families and children (primarily ages 5-12), featuring super slides, trampoline floors, climbing structures and over 65 interactive games. Complete fun tasks to earn lots of points and earn a high score.
The Tree House Challenge
This one-of-a-kind outdoor attraction has two dueling tree houses, where groups of boys and groups of girls join forces to compete against the opposite gender for bragging rights. The treehouses stretch three stories high and give kids over 100 interactive activities and challenges to enjoy.
Hundreds of colorful balls are mechanically taken to the top of each treehouse and released down specially made ball-ways that traverse from top to bottom and throughout both treehouses – dropping the balls into interactive stations. Players on each side use their hands and wits to master games to earn the greatest number of points.
