Frequently Asked Questions

Can I bring a companion?
Yes! Our beautiful Waco YMF Biplane is designed for two passengers. The front cockpit is setup so that you and a companion can sit side-by-side while you both share the experience of open cockpit flying. Furthermore, the aircraft is equipped with an intercom system which allows you to communicate with your partner as well as the pilot.

What should I wear?
During the Spring, Summer and Fall you should dress pretty much as you would normally for that time of year. Winter can be somewhat cold, however, so we choose our days carefully during the winter months. Typically, we "stand down" if the temperature falls below 50 degrees Fahrenheit Fortunately, a couple of our aircraft have heaters which allows us to fly year round. This is particularly good since many times the views are at their best during the colder months.

How do I schedule my flight?
It's easy. We fly sunup to sunset, seven days a week, by appointment. Simply coordinate your arrangements with others who may wish to join you and we will do everything possible to be accommodating. Generally speaking, you should try to plan for afternoon and evening flights during the fall, winter and spring. This gives things time to warm up prior to your flight.

What if it rains or the weather is otherwise bad?
No problem...we simply, reschedule your flight for a better day.

Can I bring my camera?
Of course. All camera equipment should, however, be equipped with a strap to prevent loosing it over the side or in the bottom of the airplane.

Can I upgrade my flight to include a second person or a different flight plan?
Yes. The value of your certificate can be applied to any of the various flight packages we offer. You must, however, advise us of your intentions to do so at the time the flight is scheduled.

How far in advance do I need to call to schedule my flight?
We suggest that you call at least a week in advance for a weekend date and two or three days prior to a weekday flight. Our "sunset" flights are very popular so call early for this one.

Are there any age, weight, size or health limitations?
Children under the age of nine must be accompanied by an adult. Individuals weighing more than 275 lbs. or couples with a combined weight of more than 400 pounds may be refused service. Please advise us in advance of any acute health problems.

Are "aerobatics" (loops, rolls, etc.) included with my flight?
In some cases yes, however, this must be planned for in advance at the time you schedule your flight.

When should I arrive for my flight?
We need you at the airport no later than 15 minutes prior to your flight time. Beats the heck out of Hartsfield, huh?

Should I tip the pilot?
While it?s certainly not expected, many of our customers are so thrilled by their flight, they just can't resist a small contribution to their pilot?s IRA (Individual Rehabilitation Account).

Do I have to sign a waiver to fly?
Yes, you will. All passengers must sign a waiver of liability. For passengers under 18 years of age, an adult or legal guardian can sign for them.
